Brand new store front bakery

Bess Charles, owner of LadyCakes Bakery has opened a new store front location in southwest florida. Specializing in celebration cakes such as weddings, birthdays, retirements and baby shower.

 

1. Tell us a little about yourself and your background.

– I have been self taught in cake decorating and we have come up with all our recipes from scratch after much trial and error. LadyCakes began as just a hobby but as time went on a passion grew. When I talked to my husband and quitting his job and becoming the baker, he was completely on board and this is where LadyCakes really took off. We have been operating out of our home for about 4 years and then once we were licensed switched to a commercial kitchen. With many dedicated followers we have progressed into a beautiful storefront and the rest is history.

2. Where does the name lady cakes come from?

-LadyCakes originally was thought of because of our daughter. When she was little we would call her ladybug. But who wants to think about ladybugs while thinking about cake.. so we then turned it into LadyCakes.

3. What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career or business as a baker?

-It’s hard work, a consistent push to the finish line that never comes. If you have passion and dedication you will do just fine.

4. Tell us a little about your new store front location.

-Our new store is located at 2924 Del Prado Blvd South, Unit 7 in Cape Coral. We are just past the St. Andrews Church heading towards Cape Coral Pkwy, on the right. Stop by and see us.

5. Whats one thing you would tell a client when they are looking into a professional cake baker to make a cake for their special occasion?

-Do your research! Read reviews and look at their past work. There are many bakers out there that proclaim they are the best.. but deliver sub-par work.
