Pre-Deployment Photosession

 

Military Life?  What can we say it’s our life and we wouldn’t change it for the world.   I know these sentiments are shared throughout our military community and is exactly why we love what we do.

We met Monica and Jon last year around the Holidays for their Engagement/Holiday session.  They were such a cute couple and expecting to get married in just a few short weeks.  The crazy thing about military life is that Monica is from here (Southwest Florida) and her now Husband, is stationed in Jacksonville NC, so it was a photographic match made in Heaven. We were able to do both sessions here in sunny Florida and will be there for her Homecoming next year as well, thanks to the Camp Lejeune team.

So when Monica came to me about session on his pre-deployment leave, I knew the importance of this session, maybe more important than any other sessions they’ve had.  We all know as military wives, girlfriends and dependents, acknowledging the fact that they are about to leave and having a photosession done to capture those last few precious moments is one of the hardest steps.  Having to say out loud to yourself and another person that the one thing in the whole world that you care about more than yourself is leaving for the next year is harder than words can describe.  Go ahead get the tissues ready, we’ll need some too.

My encouragement is… although this is the first in many, many hard steps to follow, take the time to acknowledge his departure and set up a pre-deployment session.  I have never known anyone who regretted the decision.  It’s a time celebrate your love, moments as a family and make a few precious moments before he leaves.

AND, don’t worry, we’ll see you at HOMECOMING!!
